Manoir Becancourt Hotel

We always enjoy stopping here for a night on the way to Montreal. The rooms are quaint, with classy, colourful styling and careful attention to detail. Service is warm and professional. Just be aware that you need to manage stairs. We look forward to staying again.

The hotel has some old charm, with lots of smaller rooms on the first floor for the restaurant. I stayed two nights; my room was rather small, though the bathroom was fine. The booking price was CAD 345, but the final bill sent by email was CAD 381.80. A small dinner costing CAD 43 was also overcharged. I emailed and sent a reminder asking them to explain why every item was higher than the booking price, but they didn't bother replying.

Our dinner was amazing, served elegantly in an intimate table-for-two area. They handled our Celiac and lactose intolerance dietary restrictions perfectly. The staff were terrific, and the owner was present and involved in all parts of the business. The Manoir Bécancourt was wonderful in every way. Our beautiful room had a high ceiling, and the bathroom was massive and stunning, with a slipper claw-foot tub. The black-and-white theme throughout the chamber was very soothing. Five stars all the way!

The food was top notch, and I highly recommend the dining package where the chef chooses for you and pairs the dishes with wines. It was an amazing meal. I also loved the building's history, and our room was gorgeous. We could hear sounds through the floors and in the hallways, which is why I didn't give the facilities an excellent rating. That's part of staying in an old building. It has just had a major renovation, though, and everything in our room was beautiful and very clean, so I had no real complaints. We'd recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.
