Glacier Mountain Lodge

The room was spacious and super clean, and I got to enjoy the hot tub for two hours early in the morning while my wife slept. We also had a great breakfast. We stopped at the Blue River hotel on our road trip from Edmonton to Vancouver, where the staff welcomed us warmly and went out of their way with helpful suggestions and service. We'll stay here again on our next drive through Canada.

The only real drawback was that every restaurant in town was closed except the Grizzly Food Shack in the hotel's parking lot. It would've been nice to have even one pub to hang out in. The hotel itself was just what I expected: clean, comfortable beds, roomy, and functional rather than fancy. It's right in the middle of fantastic snowmobiling, and soaking in the tub was a great treat after a long day riding.

We found a surprisingly tasty burger and great fries at the food shack nearby, and it was handy having a gas station close and a convenience and liquor store across the street. Parking was easy on the first floor, and the staff were friendly. Our family had a spacious room with two queen beds and one double, though the A/C was right beside one queen and didn't circulate well, making sleep uncomfortable. The shower curtain smelled like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. Breakfast was included, but there were no hot options.

After I checked out, I accidentally left my phone behind. The staff took the time to pack it up and mail it back, and even emailed me an update. Their kindness and professionalism made a real difference. The hotel was clean, with spacious rooms that felt brand new and were well maintained. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend Glacier Mountain Lodge if you're in the area.
