We won’t be coming back. Muskoka has plenty of other options. The unit was dirty and seemed not to have been checked before we arrived, as if it had been shut up all winter. None of the four bathrooms had hand soap. Two had shampoo and conditioner, but only one had a full set of towels. The bathroom by the kitchen had two dirty towels. There was dog kibble in the couch cushions, an old candy on the floor that my sister stepped on, and one wine glass was caked with old dishwasher soap. All the dishes were dirty, and there was a pile of dead bugs behind the main floor bedroom’s nightstand. The pool was closed the whole time, leaving walking as the only activity outside. At the front desk, the man was unpleasant when we checked in. On Saturday, we asked him for supplies, including toilet paper. He seemed offended, brought one roll for seven people and four bathrooms, then rolled his eyes and said no when we asked for another. He eventually handed over a second roll after some discussion, still clearly annoyed. He was extraordinarily rude and shouldn’t be in a customer-facing job. Maybe he’s related to the owner. Reading the owner replies to reviews gives you a sense of how unfriendly the staff are. Dinner at Touchstone Grill was lovely, and our waitress was wonderful despite being rushed off her feet. But just two young servers were handling orders, clearing tables, and making drinks. It was uncomfortable to watch how overwhelmed they were. A meal that should’ve taken an hour took three, and we canceled our Saturday dinner reservation. I don’t know why the place was so disorganized.

The location was quiet and peaceful, with plenty of parking. We were pleased with both the room and facilities during our one-night stay. There was an issue with our first room, but they moved us to a larger one at no extra cost. The two saunas and warm jacuzzi were especially nice on a cold winter evening.

We had no complaints from any of our wedding guests, and the location was hard to beat. We got married there last week, and everything went perfectly. The rooms were clean, bright, and spacious, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant service was spot on, the staff were amazing, and the food was a 10/10. It was so easy to work with them. Thanks again to Mike on the food side and Barry on the hotel side for such great service.

The resort grounds were peaceful and beautifully kept, making for a relaxing escape. Our room was immaculate and spacious, with a breathtaking view of Lake Muskoka. The spa, pool, private beach, and dock all added to the sense of calm and luxury. Service and attention to detail impressed us throughout. Management, under Robert McLaughlin and his team, clearly takes the guest experience seriously. Everything felt well arranged and made the stay smooth and stress-free. Touchstone Resort exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful getaway and will definitely return.

We spent one night here for my husband’s birthday and will definitely come back soon. The lodge above the lake was peaceful, with an amazing view. It had a full kitchen with supplies, a big fridge, and a comfortable, fluffy bed. The entrance from the street through to reception looked lovely, and Berry at the desk made us feel very welcome with a five-star experience. We were also lucky to hear a really nice jazz band playing in the restaurant at dinner. I highly recommend this place.
