Bradford Inn

The room was disappointing, with a noisy space heater and poor bathroom facilities. The whole place needs renovation, and the parking lot is breaking up. I'd paid in advance, but at 7pm the owner called from the front desk and said I had to check in by 8pm because the office closed for the night and I needed to get my key. I was having supper with friends and asked to come at 9, but he wouldn't budge, so I had to leave dinner and go to the motel. I've never run into that requirement anywhere else I've stayed. I travel a lot for work and often use chain hotels, though I also try to support independent places. I stayed because I'd already paid, but if you have another choice, take it and give this place a pass.

I drove an hour home instead of staying here. The rooms were disgusting, with stains on the pillows, sheets, and walls. Cold air came through, the heater barely worked, and there was no cable for the TV. The place looked like a 70s horror movie and seemed infested with mice, and who knows what else. There was no staff on the premises at night to raise any concerns with. How is this place even open?

It was clean, quiet overnight, and there were no bugs. The person at the front desk was nice too. The only issue was the cold air coming through the crack under the door on a night when it was around -40. A bit of weather stripping would go a long way. Otherwise, perfectly fine.

The beds were uncomfortable, the covers were itchy as hell, and the radiators seemed to have just two settings, off or sauna. Half the staff don't seem to know the system, so check-in means waiting for the one competent worker to show up. The rooms are god-awful, and you can hear a very busy highway and GO train line. They have a no one under 21 policy, which I think is both illegal and ageist. The only reason I'd recommend this place is if you want to waste 500 bucks for a week.
