We had a relaxing long weekend here. It wasn’t too crowded, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and well kept, and I especially liked how quiet the air conditioning was. It didn’t disrupt a peaceful night’s sleep the way hotel AC sometimes can. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. One concern was security. We saw quite a few homeless people around the hotel, and some were harassing guests. I strongly suggest having security on site or around the property to help protect the comfort and safety of guests and employees. Even so, it was a good stay, and I’d come back if that situation is addressed.

The rooms are very spacious and neat, and the neighborhood felt quiet and serene both inside and outside. I felt there was good security, and the area was pleasant for walking or running. The hotel is also close to the freeway. My main disappointment was the TV. The channels don’t include the full cable lineup, so if you want ESPN and all the cable channels, this may not be the hotel for you. I missed my favorite English and European soccer games all weekend. You’d think a Commonwealth country like Canada would at least have channels for the English Premier League.

Although the hotel is in an industrial area, it was fairly close to the evening event we were attending. We only stayed one night, but the room had features that would be useful for a longer visit, including a mini kitchen with a sink, dishes, and dishwasher. You could also request a portable tabletop burner. The fridge made a high-pitched whistling noise. It wasn’t very loud, but hard to ignore when trying to sleep. Breakfast was included but basic, pretty much enough to make a breakfast sandwich. The lobby seating area was on the small side.

The only bright spot was housekeeping, which was excellent. I can’t recommend the hotel after the poor service and room problems. I got conflicting information about early check-in, then arrived at the official check-in time to find my room wasn’t ready. The front desk staff tried to put me in a different room despite my preference for an upper floor, which I’d selected during online check-in. She wouldn’t even let us see the room she was pushing us into. After we kept asking, she finally gave in. They charge a no-show fee, but do guests get anything for a late check-in? The TV didn’t work properly, and the exhaust fan was broken. One star is for the housekeeping lady, whose name starts with S, I think. Please take the bad reviews seriously and spend your money somewhere better. Never going back. DO BETTER!!!
