Holiday Inn Express and Suites Brantford by IHG

Ravi and the crew, including Avneet, Christina, Gagandeep and the rest of the team, made a lasting impression on us. They were friendly, accommodating, and full of helpful tips, and it felt like they took time to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Ravi leads a great group, especially for a small-town hockey tournament hotel. They clearly love their jobs. We’ll definitely book again.

My company booked this hotel for a work trip, and the location was convenient. The room was a nice size and had all the useful basics. I used the reasonably equipped gym every day, though I didn’t try the pool. Staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast was included, with a nice range of items and good vegetarian choices. I had a nice stay.

We'd stayed here for work trips over the past year and had been happy with the clean rooms, courteous staff, and great breakfast. That changed on December 25. We booked as usual through booking.com with my Visa debit, and the property sent an email approving the reservation. After our Christmas festivities, we arrived with the confirmation number, but they refused to give us the room. My wife and I were left with our 5 yearold son at midnight on Christmas Day and had to drive back to northern ontario. I had already been awake for 24 hours, then had to drive another 7 hours through a snow storm. I felt our lives were put in jeprody. They kept the 200 dollars and offered no refund. A larger deposit was offered, and the 75 dollar insodent fee could have been paid in cash or by debit, but they wouldn't work with us. They had accepted my payment eight times over one year, then changed their policys without notice or coordination with booking agencies. I also made sure a police report was filed before we left, and the mayor of brantford and a personal friend on city council have been notified. booking.com and IHG stole money from my family and left us stranded at Christmas. I posted this here aswell as sending it to booking.com, since I don't expect the review to be verified on their site. I've also reported it to BBB. I will never recomend this hotel again. As a small buisness owner and traveling worker, I'll make sure people looking for a roof for the night don't give this booking agency or Holiday Inn Express a first or second look.

I booked two nights through Expedia, and the reservation went through without an issue using my Visa Debit card. When I called a month later to confirm and ask about the deposit, I explained that I don't have a credit card. They said they require one and wouldn't accept my debit card. I even offered a $500 deposit or to use my mother in law's card, but both were refused. All this over a $75 deposit. That's absurd. I won't use this chain again.
