Hôtel Château-Bromont

We’re planning to come back for two nights in March because we had a great experience, and next time we’ll bring our own pillows. The hotel felt like a resort, with food options, a spa, and the ski hill nearby. Everything was clean and the service was terrific. Dinner and breakfast at the gourmet restaurant were superb, and we had a great table overlooking the night ski lights. The bed was good, but three of the four pillows were very small and lumpy, and clearly old enough to need replacing. The shuttle was another downside. We waited 45 minutes to get to the hill and lost an hour of skiing; it seats only six, so don’t count on it if more than a few people are waiting. On the way back we waited 30 minutes, with about ten people there, and one group had to walk back in -22. We liked the terrace hot tubs, though they weren’t very warm, presumably because of the cold.

The supper was the best part, and the room was clean, if pretty standard. But the brunch was basically eggs and bacon, with nothing to support the name or the price. For $1,000 for one night with supper and breakfast, I expected more. The outdoor spa is too small for all the guests, and the indoor pool and spa feel dated. It didn't feel upscale or worth the cost. I wouldn't recommend it or come back.

Raymond really stood out. He was attentive, cheerful, passionate about his work, and gave us wonderful service. The rest of the staff were great too. Our room, 225, was lovely and looked out over the slopes, but the location made it hard to enjoy: it was beside the stairs and elevators, and we could hear people in the hot tubs right outside. Guests kept moving through the hall and staircases, so it was extremely noisy and difficult to sleep. The service was excellent, but I'd avoid rooms near the stairs or elevator if you want quiet.

Geneviève on the night shift at the front desk was AMAZING, and Martin at valet was too. Room 225 is spacious, has a balcony, and gives you the best mountain view. The hill is right there, and Old Bromont is just six minutes away. Just don't stay here if you're with a child's sports team.
