Hotel Brossard, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We spent Valentine's Day here this year, with free parking for checked-in guests and a welcoming reception area. Our room was spacious, with a big bathroom, a very comfortable bed, and pillows we liked so much we considered buying one. The management office opened too late in the morning for us to arrange that. We also wished the cold bare floors had guest slippers, since outdoor shoes bring in dirt. Breakfast had plenty of options and a waffle maker with delicious batter. The juice was already gone by 8 am, though, and refills could have been more attentive. We enjoyed visiting Canada for shopping and dining, especially the restaurants and my husband's favorite, Tim Hortons. We're grateful for the experience.

The stay was positive, and our family enjoyed the clean room, relaxing atmosphere, welcoming staff, and free parking. Its spot near the city but outside it was convenient for us. We had requested a crib for our newborn days before arriving, but it wasn't there, so it was good we had a plan B. On the second morning, they were out of boiled eggs at breakfast, which wasn't convenient for me personally. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

Breakfast had a good range of veg and non-veg choices, from eggs, potatoes, beans and sausages to oats, waffles, fruit, croissants, and coffee or tea. The breakfast staff were quick, capable, attentive, and pleasant. The location also worked well for getting to and from downtown Montreal. We weren't happy with the room, though. The bedding smelled strongly of bleach, which was unpleasant and kept us awake most of the night. The room and bathroom floors were dirty and looked as if they hadn't been swept or mopped in a while.

The rooms and bathrooms were big and clean, and there was plenty of parking. Housekeeping every two days seemed reasonable to me. I wasn't feeling well, so my husband tried to bring breakfast to the room and was told he couldn't. I think the hotel should reconsider that food policy. The Asian ladies in the breakfast area also came across as a little rude.
