The whole town feels beautiful and warm, even people driving by wave to you. The staff are so welcoming and kind. One thing people don’t seem to mention much is that bikes and boats are available right at the beach. Such an amazing place!
I love rustic cottages, and this one was exactly my kind of place, charming and perfectly vintage. The islands also have nice walking trails. The cottages sit right on the water with little beaches, so the location is amazing. I can’t wait to come back and stay longer than one night.
The lake view from our cottage was beautiful, and the spot is great for stargazing. We were right by the water, with a front room looking out over it. There was lots to use, including bikes, what seemed to be a canoe for each cottage, plus books and games. If you want to disconnect, this is a great fit. We booked cottage #3 while heading north and found the cottage cute and spacious, old but clean. The wood-burning stove came with a supply of wood, and the wool blankets on the comfortable beds were just right for cool nights. Bruce mines is a cute little town, and the cottages are on an island overlooking Bruce Bay, with the town behind it. We let them know we’d arrive late, as requested. Pat replied quickly by email with check-in instructions, shared her mobile number in case we needed anything, and told us about the boil water advisory. Checkout was quick and easy. Pat was friendly and helpful, asking where we were headed and offering good suggestions. I’d highly recommend the rustic, pet-friendly experience if you’re looking to unwind.
We’re back for our second year in a row and already looking forward to next year. It’s rustic, but has what you need, with lovely beach areas and plenty to do. Thanks, Pat!
There were ceiling fans in the bedrooms, which I appreciated. I usually bring my own fan for the noise cancellation and in hot weather, so it was neat to find them already installed. The cabins were clean and had fresh towels and linens, plus lots of dishes. The owners were welcoming and very accommodating to everyone in our group. My husband, our friends, and I each rented our own beachfront cabin for the weekend. You can’t beat the nightly price for cabins equipped with pretty much everything. Bring your personal things, food, drinks, and snacks, then enjoy the scenery. They supply a coffee machine, toaster, and full ovens. Bring a boat if you want to do some awesome fishing, though they have kayaks too. We’d highly recommend these old, charming cottages, and we plan to rent the lighthouse one day. Such a great little weekend getaway.
