We paid 85 a night with our dog. The guy who checked us in was friendly and polite, and it was quiet apart from the highway noise, which was fine. There's a grassy area I thought I could walk the dog in, and the river is nearby. No bed bugs. But there were loads of hairs in the bathroom, at least 15 kinds, from short and curly to about a foot long. I kept finding them on the towels and in the tub while running a bath for the kid. Signs say “don't walk dogs,” with no mention of leashes or cleanup, so it didn't feel very pet friendly. My husband said the room smelled of smoke and it really bothered his allergies; I didn't notice it. The place is dated, the sink backs up, and the toilet barely flushes. I can't say it was worth the price, though I haven't stayed anywhere else in Cache Creek, so I don't know how it compares locally. It was generally okay. I was surprised by the good reviews, but maybe we were just an anomaly.

We got our money back and found another motel. The first room was filthy, with crusty goop in several spots on the bed quilt, a sticky mess on the TV stand, hair in the sink and bathtub, and toothpaste on the bathroom tap. The owner gave us a second room, but it was only slightly cleaner. When we asked for a cleaner room, we were told it wasn't a 5 star hotel. That doesn't change the fact that you still expect a clean room. An old motel can be clean too.

The owner treated us like gold during our longer stay, making the beds in our rooms every day and being so kind and accommodating. He even carried an extra fridge up to our rooms so we could store food for work. Very thoughtful and considerate, and he went above and beyond for us. I'll stay here whenever I'm working. Thank you.

I'm not expecting the Hilton, and older fixtures are fine. I just want things clean: the bedspread, taps, and floors. If washing the floors, cleaning sticky spilled pop off the TV stand, or wiping toothpaste from the bathroom taps is too much trouble, you shouldn't run a motel. Very disappointed. 😞 😔

The service was absolutely wonderful, and it was quiet. That's about all I found appealing. The rooms were only kind of clean, everything was old and worn, and the bed felt like sleeping on a rock.
