Check-in had a bit of a snag, but Melissa handled it wonderfully with patience, kindness, and professionalism. I also got a room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. Hot tub, here I come! Thanks, Melissa, for such great service.

My accessible room at the Sandman wasn’t accessible for someone using a wheelchair, which left me completely disappointed. I have a spinal cord injury and use a manual wheelchair. The room had only minimal changes, a wider bathroom door and grab bars by the toilet, and I couldn’t use the shower. Oversized furniture also left me unable to turn my chair around. It’s disappointing to see a wheelchair symbol used for a room that doesn’t accommodate wheelchair users. Sandman needs a policy for accessible rooms that follows a standard. Thank you for replying and taking the time to speak with me by phone. I appreciate your willingness to look into improving accessibility at this hotel, and encourage you to advocate for universal barrier-free design.

The maintenance staff were the bright spot in an unpleasant stay. They worked hard, brought positive energy, and were committed to sorting things out. They moved us after we found the first room’s door lock didn’t work, replaced the A/C after trying to fix it, and spent the stay working on the toilet. They also tried hard to rein in teenagers running and screaming in the halls until 4 am. The main counter staff, unfortunately, were difficult to deal with about these problems. The whole hotel, apart from the entrance, was swass hot even with air conditioning. This was my second disappointing stay at a Sandman in the past year. The maintenance team is the only thing that might make me consider staying again.

Melissa made check-in easy for us in one of the newly renovated Grand suites. She was kind, caring, and a big help. Our kids loved going to tell her and the front desk staff about all the exciting things they’d done that day. We’ll definitely come back.
