Breakfast was a bit of a mixed bag for us. On our second morning it was just right: hot omelette and sausages, warm pancakes, yogurt, fruit in jars, toast with peanut butter or berry jams, oatmeal and cereal with nuts and dried berries, plus orange juice and tea. There was a window facing the ocean, too. The first morning, though, the hot part wasn’t served, which was disappointing since we needed a filling breakfast before a day of mountain hiking. I think that was unusual for this place. There’s no Tim Horton's in the area, so breakfast mattered to us. The hotel is a gem for its setting. We had an ocean view and beautiful sunsets from the window, and could hear the waves in the morning. You can hear the highway as well, but it wasn’t too noisy, and closing the double windows made the room quiet and cozy. The room was clean and comfortable, with nice warm lighting and everything we needed. I was especially happy to find a Nespresso machine, including a decaf pod. I don’t drink regular coffee from a jar, so that was much appreciated. The shower seemed to have been renovated fairly recently, perhaps a couple of years ago, and had a comfortable European-style handheld and overhead setup. The bathroom had good lighting and ventilation, and there were clean white bathrobes in the closet. The room also had a small fridge, iron, safe, fan, and wine glasses. Those little things helped make it feel homey. The public areas and elevator up to our third-floor room were clean and smelled nice. There’s also a cozy conference room and a gym. Service was good, and the design felt warm and welcoming, like the four-star European hotels we’ve stayed in. We were a small family visiting for the area’s long, scenic mountain trails, so a good early breakfast was a big help. For us, meeting guests’ expectations is what makes service memorable. I hope this detailed account helps future visitors. Thank you, and enjoy! 💐👏👏

The staff were great, respectful, and genuinely nice to chat with. I also really liked the room and bathroom design. I’d give this hotel more than five stars.

After a long drive, this was a perfect place to stop. The views were lovely, and there’s a boardwalk right outside. Staff were very helpful, and we really enjoyed the breakfast and our stay at Manoir Belle Plage.

We were very happy with our stay overall. The location is great, and the property is clean and renovated. The rooms felt a bit dry, though, and for the price I would’ve appreciated complimentary bottled water. We had to get up in the middle of the night to buy some from the vending machine.

What stood out most was the thoughtful design throughout, from the entryway and hallways to the dining room and guest rooms. Local artists and Indigenous references are woven in, even down to a toilet paper holder made from two pieces of wood by a local artist. Amazing. Our ocean-facing room on the third level had a spectacular view of Baie Chaleur, and the room, bed, and furnishings were all first-rate. The staff were polite and helpful. We’d definitely recommend booking here if you’re passing through Carleton-sur-mer.
