The Small Loft at Lofts du Village, Square Old Chelsea was much bigger than I expected. There were only two of us, but four people could easily have been comfortable. Wall-to-wall windows overlooking the Square made it feel bright, open, and airy. In winter the Square was charming, and the stay felt well worth the price. I can’t wait to return in summer. The cozy couch by the fireplace gave the loft a romantic feel. The modern bathroom had heated floors, and the kitchen was fully equipped with lots of cupboard space if you bring food. There was a washer and dryer too, which we didn’t need but appreciated having.

The bathroom was the best part of the loft, with a big tub and a double-headed shower in the same space, perfect for relaxing. We stayed on the third floor in a large, clean, cozy loft, which suited us fine, though there’s no elevator if you need one. The only real problem was the heat. It was too hot, and I woke up feeling dry and thirsty. There’s a washer and dryer, but you need to bring your own detergent. We loved our stay and will be back.

Getting the key was confusing. It was at a grocery store on the main street, about a 10-minute walk from the room. I’d emailed ahead to ask where to pick it up, but the reply just said “Loft de village,” which maps to the accommodation, not the store. They could easily have sent me a link. I was also puzzled by the spa package on the website: after I booked and paid, and the full amount was charged to my card, they still asked me to email my card details. I’d suggest booking directly with the Nordic Spa instead. The room itself was lovely. It was nice to come back from an evening at the Spa to a warm room with a coffee machine, kettle, and milk in the fridge. The bathroom was spacious with a nice shower, and the bed was comfortable. There were chocolates, wine, and beer in the fridge, but it wasn’t clear whether those were extra charges, so we assumed they were.

Lofts du Village was a charming place for our two-night visit to Chelsea, Quebec. The rooms were cute, welcoming, and cozy, a lovely spot to rest after a day out. We especially enjoyed the village around the lofts. The nearby pub and cafe served fresh, well-prepared food, and it was great having such good options just steps away. We could have used a room check between nights. Nothing was refreshed, so by the second morning we were out of a few things. We’d used both coffee cups on the first day, and the lotion, though lovely, was empty after two pumps. It would also have helped to have the garbage emptied. A quick restock would make longer stays more comfortable. Even with that small oversight, I’d recommend this cozy, high-quality spot for a relaxing getaway in the Gatineau area.

This is a charming, fairly new hotel option in Chelsea, with comfortable beds and plenty of space. The staff were lovely and easy to reach, either in person or by text. We also appreciated the subtle holiday decorations during our stay. The rooms are set up for longer visits, though the kitchens could use basics like oil, salt, pepper, and a teapot. Internet was just okay: streaming TV in high definition didn’t work for us, and video calls were difficult. It snowed while we were there, and staff tried to keep up with shoveling and salting, but the metal stairs were still slippery and not well lit at night. Anyone with mobility or vision issues would probably be better off in a first-floor room.
