The room worked perfectly for our Christmas visit to our daughters in Grand Forks and Christina Lake. We were there for eight nights, December 18-26, in Cabin # 7 - Kodiak, and Barefoot Villas made a handy base, about 20 minutes from Grand Forks and just moments from our other daughter. We usually travel west from Ontario in summer, and I think we’ve found where we’ll stay next time. Nearby amenities were still available over the holidays, and we’d happily recommend the place. Coffee fans should try Pony Espresso at the Welcome Centre in Christina Lake. We stopped there regularly for tasty coffees, mochas, and baked goods. The detailed text with check-in steps was easy to follow and also covered useful room information and who to contact if we needed anything. Before arriving, I’d called with a few questions and got friendly, helpful answers. The room was very clean, the towels and linens were just right, and the bed had the kind of support we like. The little kitchenette had everything we needed, though we ate and visited elsewhere a lot and didn’t use it as much as usual. The refrigerator wasn’t working properly. I told our host, who came by quickly, checked it, and found the fridge itself was the issue, not the electrical supply. They offered to move us, but since we weren’t using it, we stayed put and were comfortable. The property was quiet, though it was the off season; we saw other guests coming and going but never heard them. We both needed to work during the trip, and the Wi-Fi was great, with no trouble getting anything done.

We were glad to meet the owner, such a kind and lovely lady. Our room was upgraded to a larger one, and I appreciated getting a message to let me know. The villas sit among the trees in a beautiful, peaceful spot, an easy walk from Christina Lake. Inside, the room was lovely and very clean, with a well-stocked kitchen, plus a patio and table out back. We had a great stay and will definitely return for longer next time. I’d highly recommend Barefoot Villas. Thank you!
We could walk to everything Christina Lake has to offer, and the beach was just steps away. The cabin was spotless and thoughtfully laid out, exactly what we needed. The hosts were easygoing and accommodating. We’d be back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
We only stayed one night, in room 1, but had a peaceful visit and enjoyed the room. Getting in was quick and simple since the code arrived by email before check-in. The front desk staff were lovely, and the laundry facilities worked great when we needed them on arrival. The owners are lovely too, thank you. A couple of small fixes would help: a bathroom blind would give more privacy, since we had to cover the window with a purse and magazine, and the door deadbolt needs repair. Christina Lake feels fairly safe, but a working bolt would still make you feel more secure inside at night.
The hot tub beside our fire pit made for a magical evening. I visited in the off season and had a wonderful stay at this hidden gem in Christina Lake. The resort is tucked among plenty of trees, and my room was clean and welcoming throughout. Big thanks to Rachel for looking after me so well and providing great service.
