Nomad motel

We made a last minute stop after leaving Northern BC later than planned and got their last room. Glad we did. It was cheap and clean, just as advertised, with an unexpected bit of cuteness. The hand towels had been folded with a little care, like a family had put them there rather than a corporation.

The Nomad is a good simple place to stay while travelling. It looks to date from around the 1950s, but it was very clean and well maintained. The owner seems to care about the property, and the decor was charming.

I was stranded just outside Clinton when my vehicle broke down, so I needed somewhere at short notice, with very few choices in town. I wasn’t disappointed. The rooms were very clean, service was friendly and the place had a cozy mom-and-pop feel. There were also good amenities nearby for such a small town. Good value for the price, and I’d recommend it.

After a long day on the road, the man at reception made me feel more welcome than I’ve felt anywhere else. I arrived at 9:30 at night after driving since 4 in the morning. He gave me a bottle of water at no charge when I asked, and reassured me that it was safe to leave valuables in my truck. It was my first time staying in Clinton, and I was glad I chose this place. The room was bigger and better than most motels I’ve stayed in, with a comfortable bed, full kitchen and clean bathroom, all for a good price. I travel a lot by car, and this was my best motel stay so far. I’ll make it my go-to next time I need a bed passing through. Say hi to their little wiener dog, who sits in the man’s arms during check-in. He barks at customers, haha.
