Best Western Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre

Sam and Hailey made the check-in quick and smooth, and they got me in early. Their effort really shaped a great experience. I’d happily recommend the hotel and will be back.

The restaurant has consistently good food and drinks, which is handy after a long workday, and there’s lots of free parking. I’ve used the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre many times on business trips. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. A couple of years ago, the rewards program gave me a $50 gift card after two nights, a nice extra. It’s a dependable, welcoming place for business or leisure, and I recommend it.

The location and room cleanliness were good. Walmart, Starbucks, restaurants, and the arenas are nearby. But the service, apart from one man at the desk, was 0/10. The bald man with glasses was kind and helpful, and made check-in easy. The owner interrupted to tell us to take our mini sticks back to the cars, without thanking us for choosing the hotel and going straight to negative comments. The owner seemed to discriminate against us as soon as he learned we were a hockey team. Later, another man followed us to the pool and made sure there was no fun happening, and the front desk woman had an attitude. They knew we were a team when we booked, so they could have told us to change our bookings, but they wanted our money. I was very disappointed. I’d strongly advise families with young kids who want to have fun, and hockey tournament groups, to stay elsewhere.

The rooms are spacious and the pool was a big hit with the kids. Brian and the team also went above and beyond when our car broke down and my husband, our four kids, and I were stranded. Even though the hotel was booked, they found a way to fit us in during the emergency. We really appreciate it.
