Travellers Motel

A loud, constant high-pitched squeal went on for my entire stay, 24/7, and I couldn’t sleep. The room wasn’t inhabitable. They wouldn’t answer my complaints or give my money back. These guys are scam artists. Don’t stay here!

It’s nice that they allow dogs, and the sheets and bed were clean, but I won’t stay again. The place is run down, needs repairs and updates, and wasn’t clean. Walking barefoot left grit on our feet, so it seemed they weren’t vacuuming or washing the floors. It was also hard to figure out the TV. There was no remote to turn it on, and I finally found the button underneath.

With just one day before the stay, the property suddenly cancelled my Hotels.com booking in a private message. I called them, and the customer service was absolutely terrible. They made no effort to help cancel or refund the stay, so I spent almost an hour on the phone with Hotels.com customer service trying to sort it out.

The room was clean, quiet, smelled fresh, and had everything we needed. Finding the place was easy, there was plenty of parking, and the new manager (owner?) was friendly and welcoming while working on the yard and putting in fresh plants. There’s also a lovely outdoor gazebo guests can use, which is the smoking area. We’d happily stay again. We needed basic, inexpensive accommodation for a road trip, and this met our needs. It’s an older building, not shiny or fancy, but maybe the new owner (?) will make some updates. I think its age added to the road-trip experience. We were on the second floor and had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs, though that was our fault for packing like we were moving.
