After exploring Dawson City, Bombay Peggy’s is a beautiful place to come back to. Its gold rush past is part of the setting, while the rooms feel intimate and carefully put together, with plush bedding and thoughtful touches that make them comfortable and elegant. Downstairs, the cocktail bar is polished and welcoming, with expertly made drinks and a lively feel. The history is all around, but comfort hasn’t been sacrificed.

The drinks were good, but this visit didn’t have the friendly, fun feel I remembered from when it used to be a favourite Dawson spot. Maybe it was Discovery Day weekend, or the bar being full. I overheard a server mention a check from the “liquor inspector.” It all felt chaotic and expensive.

We went on Sunday night and got to hear live music from a stellar saxophonist. The pub patio had a great atmosphere, and service was so prompt that we never needed to get up for another drink.

A really cool cocktail bar. Try the new fashioned. The boozy coffee is good if you’re sleepy, and it’ll get you boozy too. There isn’t much food, but the dips look tasty.

I didn’t stay in the rooms, so I can’t really comment on those. It was a wonderful place to visit, with a great atmosphere.
