Comfort Inn

Breakfast was disappointing. I went down at 8:30 and found rubbery scrambled eggs, a few pieces of bacon, and a couple of hash brown patties. When I asked if they’d bring out more fresh food, I was told no because breakfast was closing soon. The morning supervisor was worst of all. When I told her about the bed, she kept giving me a condescending attitude, as if to say, “If you don’t like it, leave.” The beds were rock hard, like sleeping on a cement floor, because they used memory foam instead of a mattress. I looked at it and found yellow stains and tears. The front desk said that was standard in all rooms. I’ve stayed at many Comfort Inn hotels over the years and never had this problem. It’s sad to see this hotel under the #Choice umbrella. I strongly advise against staying here.

The room was clean when I arrived, and the bed was comfortable. But they only cleaned rooms, made beds, and refreshed towels every three days, and only if you hounded them for it. The foyer was clean and welcoming, and the front-end staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is the big problem. It was practically nonexistent, and when there was food, the quality was acceptable. A “full” buffet for the whole hotel had just two eggs, six sausages, six tiny bacon pieces, and four hash browns. If more than one or two people arrived at once, the next person had to wait while the attendant cooked another small batch. You were almost made to feel like a nuisance for trying to eat. Unless you wanted sugary waffles, there usually wasn’t food left when you needed to eat and run. I ended up paying for fast food each morning so I could eat and get to work on time. Calling breakfast “free” with the room price feels borderline false advertising. I’d look for another hotel for that reason alone.

This felt like a perfect home for the two weeks at a time I spend away from home. It’s better than most 5 star hotels, super clean, and all the workers put care and hard work into what they do.

The room was cozy, and the breakfast was nice for a free one. My only complaint is the TV, which needs to be hooked up to the internet every 24 hours. Pretty dumb, if you ask me, but it was still a pretty decent stay.
