Beach Grove Motel

Being close to the ferry terminal was a real plus. The room itself looked overdue for a makeover, especially the chair in the front room, which was pretty gross and covered in large stains. There was hair on the towels and in the blankets, and it wasn’t ours or even similar to ours. I’m sure the rooms get cleaned, but the hair on the towels and sheets made things feel unclean.

The kitchenette came in handy, the bed was adequate, and we liked that the place welcomed pets and was near Boundary Bay regional park. For a one-night stay, it was convenient and reasonable for the price. Our unit did need work, though. There was mold on the kitchen ceiling, perhaps from an earlier leak, and the air conditioner was incredibly noisy. Some floor tiles were cracked too. It could use a thorough cleaning and probably some renovation.

This was a clean, comfortable stay, and the service was super. It’s an old, cute motel with a fun vintage movie feel, though it isn’t the luxury place some people might expect. There was some sand in the sheets, a slight musty smell, and the old bed creaked a little. None of that caused us a problem.

We were worn out after driving all the way from montreal, and this was the fifth place we tried for a room. We’d booked one night, but needed another, and although there wasn’t initially a second-night opening, they arranged things so we could stay in the same room. We really appreciated not having to move. For the price, it’s a great little place to rest and recover. Our room was spacious, with 2 large bed and a full kitchen stocked with everything you’d need to cook. They’d even left ice in the freezer. We brought our husky for a 20$ fee, which seemed very cheap and well worth it. Beautiful place, thanks so much for having us!
