Auberge De Douglastown Hostel

We used this as our base for exploring the Perce area, and it worked out great. The place is very clean, with an incredible view and an awesome playground, maze, and indoor spaces for kids. A fantastic spot for families.

It feels more like a community centre than a regular hostel, with facilities for cooking your own meals and a chance to meet people from all over and all walks of life. The hostel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s in a handy spot, roughly equally distant from Percé and Forillion National Park. For groceries, the big Gaspé stores Super C and Provigo are nearby. If you need something in an emergency, there’s a convenience store about 500 m away, run by the owner of a local gas station.

The free breakfast was a real bonus, and the place has a great community feel. There’s a gymnasium, cafeteria, basketball nets, and other good facilities. I couldn’t have picked a better place to spend a week in Gaspesie. I’d give it six stars if I could.

I come for the laundry facilities and showers, and the Sunday breakfasts are delicious, with a nice chance to catch up with family and friends. It’s a great place to stay for a night or two. The rooms are spacious, large, and clean, the kitchen is great, and everyone is friendly and very helpful. The whole place is spotless.
