Amila’s customer service at the bar was warm and attentive, and he’s professional, friendly, and clearly cares about making each guest’s visit memorable. His attention to detail and welcoming personality make you want to come back. At Delta Hotels Edmonton South, his bartending is outstanding. He knows his drinks and makes cocktails to suit guests’ preferences really well. He’s a real asset to the hotel. I highly recommend stopping by the bar to experience his service.

The buffet was a highlight of our wedding reception at Top Of the Inn, and our guests loved the food right away. They still tell us how good it was. We also loved the starry ceiling. We’d originally been looking for a rustic, earthy venue, but after seeing Delta Hotel South, we changed our plans because we could picture our reception in that beautiful space. We got married in October 2025, and the three days before the wedding and the day itself, Delta was very responsive and accommodating when we needed to make changes. Earlier on, though, replies to clarification questions sometimes took a few days, so we had to send follow-up emails. That’s why we gave four out of five stars. Our stay in the bilevel suite was good and comfortable enough for what we needed, though the building and room felt a bit dated.

The room was tight, and the coffee tray was tucked in the closet with the ironing board. Lighting was dim, as in most hotels, though the windows ran across the room and the curtains pulled all the way back to let in more light. The lobby looked great but was deceiving. The hallways were nice, the elevators were fine, and the place is pet friendly. The location was good. The bathroom had several serious cleanliness problems. There was a lot of greenish-yellow mildew on the shower ceiling, and the shower water made residue around the tub visible. Every towel was brownish instead of white, which felt extremely motel-like. There were hairs on the pillows and long hairs on the sheets. I asked for new sheets and pillowcases, but only sheets arrived. The manager was polite and professional and changed the sheets for me, though housekeeping was off duty at 11 p.m. The shower curtain was wrinkled, presumably from several guests, and the ceiling over the shower looked like the water was making it collapse. The water temperature was controlled and wouldn’t get hot. The shower head was a reasonable size, had several pressure settings, and the pressure was decent. There was a vent inside the shower, which felt very odd and made my teen uncomfortable and scared. They asked us to find something to cover it. The sink was clean and had a multi-stream faucet, but the water pressure was very low. The bathroom was so cramped that the door could hit your knee if you didn’t lock it to keep kids or your partner from opening it. At that point, I didn’t trust the glasses enough to test them. Aurora had good food at a good price and great service.

I was in town on business after travelling across several time zones, already busy and stressed, and ended up spending extra time sorting out the hotel’s billing. They charged me for the first night, then charged me for two nights when I checked out. I had to go over the charges with reception, and later spent 30 minutes explaining the travel expenses to my accountant because of the hotel’s unusual billing practices. This all started when I learned they had checked me out of my room on the first day of a two-day stay. Staff told me I’d left my room card at the front desk for express checkout. I had only one key and it was with me, so I believe that explanation was false and meant to cover their mistake. It may sound minor, but I have better things to do than keep a hotel’s accounting and room key records straight. Management should provide more staff training and review its checkout systems.
