Ramada by Wyndham Northern Grand Hotel & Conference Centre

I really liked the restaurant on the main floor. The food was high quality, with some unique, upscale dishes, and the whole place had a great feel. The hotel itself was lovely too, and the staff were very friendly. My room was laid out well and had newer tech that let me pair my devices with the TV. It also came with a fridge, shower toiletries and other useful amenities. The blackout blinds kept out all the light and helped me sleep well. There’s a gym with most of what you need for a decent workout, though it’s on the small side. My stay at the Ramada Inn Fort St John was fantastic, and I’ll definitely be back.

As a truck driver, I need decent rest during downtime, and this place wasn’t quiet enough. Doors started slamming early, and they slid my receipt under the door at 7:30 a.m., even though checkout wasn’t until 11. It felt like they were rushing guests out. Other hotels in Fort St. John have been much quieter and better for getting rest. The room was nice and clean, but the outside of the building needs attention and the lobby felt dark. If you want a peaceful stay, this might not be the best choice.

The heated bathroom floors were a lovely touch, but the in-house restaurant food was terrible. They included items we’d asked them to leave off, the steak was too tough to bite, the sandwich was missing a piece of bread, and the salad was soggy. The room was great, though the door made so much noise that I had to wedge a towel against it.

We came to FSJ for a family wedding and booked two rooms online. The location worked well for us, close to some unique local cafes. Staff were friendly and helpful, and when I called before the trip, they answered my questions professionally. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A couple of the younger generation enjoyed the exercise room. Since the hotel is on a Main Street, there was some traffic noise.
