Comfort Inn

Breakfast was filling and reasonably priced compared with the other places around. There was also complimentary coffee and water in the lobby, and the room had everything I needed. I spent one night here while driving across Newfoundland and had no complaints. Staff were friendly and answered all my questions when I arrived. A pleasant stop.

The morning breakfast was great, with hot food as well as the usual cold cereals. Our room, 204, was large and super quiet, with darkening curtains and a comfortable king mattress. Best sleep we’d had in days. The hotel was clean, too, and the staff were wonderful, especially Wayne at the front desk. For Gander, Newfoundland, this is the best value. It’s way better value than the high priced Holiday Inn Express outside St. John’s International Airport. I’d highly recommend it to everyone.

We only found out at 1:40 a.m., when we arrived, that our prepaid reservation had been canceled. They said it was a computer issue, that the room had been resold, and that they were now fully booked. I’m fuming and will write about it in more detail tomorrow.

The clean rooms, plenty of parking, and great location made this the best night’s stay of our month long road trip. Everything you’d want in a hotel. The people at the front desk and breakfast service were fabulous. Very highly recommended!
