Gypsy by the Lake B & B

Franklin Beach is only a few feet away, and the tidy backyard looks out over the lake too. I loved how quiet it was. Our north-facing Lakeview room was spacious, clean, and beautiful, with a lovely lake view. Leslie was kind and respectful, and the authentic goulash was the best. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

Leslie made me delicious breakfast with his own homemade bread, and the bed was super comfortable. A lovely place to stay while I explored Ontario.

We had a great weekend getaway. The location is beautiful, and Les really makes you feel at home. It was like staying at a friend's house, and the service was excellent.

The kids were comfortable wandering around the different parts of the house, which gave us parents peace of mind. Leslie welcomed us and was helpful from the start. He was proud to be carrying on the home his mother started, and even let us linger the next day until the next guests arrived. The place is just across the grass from the southern shore of Lake Simcoe. Breakfast was served outside under the grape pergola, with plenty of coffee, toast and butter and jam, bacon, eggs, and homemade hash browns that were as good as any I've had. We were there Friday into Saturday with our two children, along with another family of four. You could have a quiet escape here or enjoy a couple of drinks by the backyard fire in the evening. We had a fabulous break with Les and will be back! Oscar and Natalie
