Lakeview Gimli Resort & Conference

The lake view through those big dining room windows is lovely, especially in the morning light, and the staff never rush you even when it gets busy. I’ve been coming to the Lakeview Resort Restaurant for years, and Sunday mornings here are something I really look forward to. Their eggs benedict with house hollandaise is rich but not too heavy. If you live nearby and haven’t made this part of your weekends yet, you really should.

I loved the “free chocolate night” and the other entertainment they offer, and the hot tub is fantastic. My room had a balcony, which I’m looking forward to enjoying properly in the summer ☀️. So many places are within walking distance, and having Robins Donuts in the building is great. I’ll be back!

The restaurant attached to the hotel suited my taste, and I had a nice view of the frozen lake with ice fishermen in the distance. I had no problems with the hotel itself. A few things could be improved, though: the bathroom needs an update, and there’s no business center for printing work documents. Reception offered to print mine for a charge per sheet, which I declined. The batteries in my TV remote also died, but the front desk replaced them.

The rooms were clean and spacious, though a little dated. We had brunch at Seagulls, the hotel restaurant, and it was great. The location right downtown by the beach is hard to beat, with restaurants close by and lovely views. After an evening walk on the ice roads around the fishing huts, they offered us hot chocolate. There was a huge kids’ game room with big Jenga and cornhole, plus a separate video game room, and we enjoyed the pool. The staff were very friendly. We’ll come back in summer to try the outdoor pool.
