The room was clean, in good shape, and honestly better than I expected. It didn’t smell musty, felt about like a room at a regular chain hotel, and the digital keycards were a plus. I’d give the room itself around four stars. The front desk and paperwork were the frustrating parts. The front office always seemed locked, and more than once I had to call around or wait for help. I even met another guest outside who was having trouble checking in because she couldn’t get anyone through the phone setup. It seemed easy for guests to be left standing there confused without extra effort. The $200 deposit was another annoyance. It may be buried in the fine print, but it should be made much clearer upfront. I don’t remember getting much paperwork or a proper receipt either. The Wi-Fi details were only handwritten, and weren’t given when I paid. I had to go back to the office to ask for them. To be fair, I got my deposit back later that same day, so that worked out. Once you get past the awkward check-in process, the stay is simple enough. I’d advise anyone staying here to film the room when they arrive, film it again before leaving, and record returning the key, just in case there’s a disagreement later.

The rooms are very good for a fair price, and there’s plenty of parking. Check-in was easy, and my room had a microwave.

The room itself was in rough shape. Only one of the four lights worked, the closet door was smashed in half, it clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, and there was dog hair all over our sheets. The fridge smelled like mould, and there was a pile of broken things at the end of the hallway, which didn’t seem safe for children staying there. The woman was rude about it, too. I’d paid online for the room, but when I arrived to check in, the lobby had the family’s and children’s shoes in it, and they were keeping their own food in a “water fridge.” That made the whole motel smell like curry, and they were also charging $2 for water. Then they said I had to pay another $300 and wouldn’t give me a room or my money back unless I did. They said the extra money was in case of damages. I agreed and sent the $300 on top of the $120 I’d already paid. Seeing the damage when I entered the room made me record it. I’ll never come back, and I’m not sure how this place is still in business.

The on-site diner had a delicious breakfast, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room in the newly renovated wing was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It was great value for the price, and I’d definitely stay again.

You can hear everything through the floor, including the TV and people talking. I wouldn’t stay here again.
