Travelodge by Wyndham Golden Sportsman Lodge

The room was clean, in good shape, and possibly newly renovated. Even the soap was Dove, not the usual generic hotel kind. The pool was a comfortable temperature, with a good waterslide, and there’s a sauna too. Breakfast was the best free hotel breakfast I’ve had, with a pancake machine, juice, coffee and tea, toast, cereal, muffins, fruit, and scrambled eggs. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and even helped boost our car when its battery died. I was impressed with the service and felt the hotel was well worth the money. I’d recommend staying here.

We had a great few days away here. The place was clean and well managed, everyone was friendly, and breakfast was decent. Make sure you try the pancakes. The waterslide and hot tub were great too!

We picked this place on our drive back from BC at Christmas mainly for the pool and waterslide. The pool area was filthy. The hot tub water was disgusting, and I took an extremely long shower afterward and used nearly all the soap. The pool steps, which were once white, are brown. I’m not sure anything in the whole area had been cleaned. Kids were jumping from the slide into the pool and blocking the water at the top, with no staff in sight. Someone could easily have been seriously hurt or killed. Breakfast was terrible, just cereal, toast, and powdered eggs. There wasn’t enough room for everyone, and I couldn’t even get coffee, so we ended up finding food on the road. We’d stayed at a Ramada the week before, and it was far better for breakfast and cleanliness. The owners clearly don’t care. Don’t stay here.

The management and staff were super nice, and check-in was quick and easy. We got a jet tub for a reasonable price, though ours could use an update, and the beds were a little hard for me. Breakfast was the main disappointment. I’d still recommend the hotel, but you may as well sleep in and skip breakfast.
