Howard Johnson by Wyndham Grande Prairie

The outside could use some paint and care, but inside I had a good stay last night. Check-in was quick, the room was good, and the bed was comfortable. This morning Austin at the front desk was so friendly, gave me directions to pick up my vehicle, and suggested a great breakfast spot right across the street. Great service, Austin, keep it up.

Chelsea turned things around for us, and we'll definitely be back. The first night had a lot of problems, and the associate on duty, who knows who he is, wasn't any help with the issues we raised. We were exhausted, had barely slept, and the bed was horrible, so we planned to check out. Chelsea took the time to help, upgraded us at no extra cost, and discounted the first room. The chambermaids were great too. The second room had great beds and everything was much better, five stars for that room.

The motel was handy for my appointment, close to the hospital, with several restaurants within walking distance. My stay was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job keeping everything clean. They were very friendly, and Alan at the front desk made check-in easy and was a big help.

It's a basic motel with nothing fancy, though the location is its best feature since everything is walkable. Breakfast is just muffins and fruit, and the coffee is extremely weak. In my first room, the microwave took ten minutes to heat a meal that should've taken two, and I had to pull out the fridge to reach its too-short cord to the outlet. I stayed again, and that room was much better, but the shower still needs work.
