The Inn on Bay

Breakfast was a real treat, and our host was warm and welcoming. You get a personal touch here that larger hotels don’t offer, all at a very reasonable price. The Inn on the Bay is a charming place, close to downtown and an easy hop to local restaurants. Our room was quiet and peaceful, and the bed was so comfortable we slept very well. We’d happily come back.

There’s a shared sitting room for guests, separate from the main house, and the rooms are adorable and private. Everything feels clean and welcoming, with the personal touches you don’t get at a hotel chain. Jen is a lovely host, breakfast was great, and the location was good too. Hard to ask for more.

The Elm View Suite was getting close to feeling too small. The bed was very comfortable, so much so that we accidentally slept in the first morning, but I kept bumping into the bedframe as I walked by. I finally put the accent pillows on the corners to remind myself where they were. The private bathroom was also farther away than I expected from the description: it was down the hall, past two other rooms, so I had to get dressed to use it. Next time in Gravenhurst, we’ll book the Segwun Suite. For not much more, it has a separate sitting area, more space, and a private ensuite. We stayed two nights at this B&B and had a really good experience overall. Jen was constantly on the go, but still greeted us when we arrived and waved goodbye the morning we left. She made sure we had what we needed, including cookies in the room on our first night, and took time to get to know us despite her busy schedule. Breakfast was hot, light, and healthy, just the right amount to get the day started. It was served promptly, and the tables were set up for guests arriving early. The location was ideal for the wedding we attended a few blocks away, an easy walk. It would be hard to find better value nearby or better service at this price. We liked the small touches, too, like USB outlets at both bedside tables and the TV automatically logging out of our streaming accounts at checkout.

The breakfasts were fantastic. Apart from seeing family, staying at this B&B was the highlight of our trip. I can’t recommend it enough.
