The front desk lady was nice, but the location and room felt really ghetto. The place is scary and run down, and the room smelled bad and definitely hadn’t been cleaned properly. I wish I’d trusted my gut and left when we pulled up. Pray for me, I have to spend the night here. It’s not the worst, but it’s my worst hotel experience. Spending an extra 50/60 dollars for somewhere a little nicer is definitely worth it. #regret If you stay and hear an annoying sound, it’s the mini fridge. Unplug it.

The second room they moved me to had a constant, extremely loud noise all night. I couldn’t sleep. It was one of the most disturbing sounds I’ve experienced in a hotel, and by 5:00 a.m. I had to leave and book somewhere else. At checkout I reported it and was told it came from the pipes. That doesn’t justify the noise or the discomfort. The first room I was assigned had a broken door lock, and it was obvious the door had been forced open before. It felt completely unsafe, so I called staff to come and verify it themselves. The hotel charges a $200 security deposit, which puts guests at risk of being blamed for damage they didn’t cause. Staff confirmed the problem and moved me to another room, which I accepted in good faith, but then the night began. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in Canada, despite staying in hotels across the country, from Vancouver to Halifax.

The second room was fine, but its heater was broken and banged a few times, so we shut it off. Then the door’s chain lock came right out of the wall. We told the front desk, and the lady said, “it happens all the time,” so it didn’t feel like there was any real security at the hotel. The first room smelled like weed. We asked to move, and the front desk lady seemed pretty grumpy.

The mouse was the last straw. Just as I was about to fall asleep, I saw one run across the corner of the room. I was shocked and disgusted, worrying whether it had been on my luggage, touched my clothes, or left droppings somewhere. No guest should have to deal with that, especially at over a hundred dollars a night. Earlier, I’d arrived excited to visit Halifax for the first time, paying $120/night, but the room felt unsafe because the lock was broken. The air conditioner was so loud I couldn’t sleep with it on, and when I turned it off, the room became freezing. I reported the mouse to the front desk, but staff were reluctant to give me another room, and I had to insist. When they finally gave me a new key, there was no apology or concern. The staff member actually gigged like it was normal and acted as if she were doing me a favor. This stay was unacceptable, unsafe, and honestly traumatic. If management reads this, I expect a refund or compensation for the conditions, and I will be contacting Public Health Halifax because a mouse in a hotel room is a serious health hazard. Other reviews describe similar mice in rooms, so this isn’t an isolated case. I’d never stay here again and strongly recommend others avoid the hotel completely.

The staff were great and friendly. The room and bathroom were very clean, and while breakfast wasn’t a big spread, it was great for grabbing coffee, yogurt, and fruit. For $90 a night, I was more than happy 👍🏻
