Prince George Hotel

The room was spotless and a good size, with comfortable beds, good lighting, a handy minibar and fridge area, and a well-equipped bathroom. The hotel has a classy interior, helpful staff, a good gym, and a nice pool. Underground parking was easy to use. It’s right downtown, so bars and Roger’s Centre nearby made the weekend a bit noisy, but it wasn’t intolerable. Our hockey team got a great group rate, and we’ll stay again next season.

The staff at The Prince George Hotel Halifax were kind and helpful throughout our stay. Reception was very friendly, and the room keepers were respectful and supportive. The room itself was disappointing for cleanliness. Dust covered the curtains, and the carpet felt very dirty, which made it uncomfortable, especially for someone with allergies. I wouldn’t recommend it to people who are sensitive to dust or have allergy issues.

Everything was a short walk away, and the convenient downtown location was a real plus. My room was tidy and beautifully kept, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The lobby is bright, spacious, and beautiful, while the staff were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. This was my first stay here, and I was more pleasantly surprised than I can say. I wouldn’t change a thing. 10/10, I’d stay again.

The location is good, but the noise from a bar right outside made it hard to sleep. The hotel also felt expensive for dated decor, peeling paint in the bathroom, and sinks and a tub that drained slowly. The bigger issue was the cleanliness and how staff responded. I arrived at 1:30am after a late flight from Vancouver and a long day of travel, then found someone else’s hair in the sink and long hairs in the bathtub. The bathroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned. I had an early conference, showed staff a photo, and emailed it too, but they weren’t as apologetic as I expected. Leaving a hotel bathroom uncleaned is disgusting and unhygienic. After my three-night stay, I asked about a late checkout because my flight home wasn’t until 6pm. I was told to call at 7:30am on checkout day. I set an alarm despite being on west coast time, thinking I could call and go back to sleep. When I did, they couldn’t accommodate me. I raised the hygiene issue again, but they still wouldn’t help. That showed me they didn’t care about guests’ experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I’ll never return.
