Hampton Inn by Hilton Hamilton

The warm pool and quiet, clean room made for a nice two-night stay. There were lots of outlets, and breakfast was fresh with a better selection than we usually find at hotels. Having coffee and tea available in the lobby around the clock was especially welcome on such a freezing weekend. We normally stay at the Sheraton, but wanted somewhere new downtown with a pool. We’ll come back here for overnight trips to Hamilton. Thanks!

The room was clean and the location worked well for the arena, so I’d probably stay here again for another sporting event. But I’ll remember to bring a credit card. They require one for the security deposit; if you pay with a debit card, they take $300 from your account and tell you to keep the receipt until checkout. They also made me wait at checkout while housekeeping inspected the room. I’m now having trouble getting that deposit back, and the front desk wasn’t helpful when I called.

Manjot made breakfast feel welcoming each morning. The food was fresh, hot, and nicely arranged, but it was Manjot’s warmth, efficiency, and care that really stood out. At the desk, John and Suemaya were just as helpful, from check-in through all my questions. They were friendly, attentive, and accommodating, and handled things with an easy smile. The clean rooms and comfortable feel were great too. The people here made this a wonderful stay, and I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Hamilton.

I arrived on November 17th after mistakenly booking my flight from Hamilton International Airport, an oversight on my part. The room was spacious and quiet, which I appreciated, though the hotel is quite new and had a slight formaldehyde smell I didn’t like. The bathroom wasn’t very practical: water splashed around, so I put a bath towel on the floor to keep from slipping. There was no exhaust fan, but that wasn’t a major problem. I did notice a loose floor tile beside the toilet. It felt clearly unstable when I stepped on it.
