Pleasant Stay Motel

We stopped here to sleep while we were away for work. It was a decent place, but the people running it handled our booking badly. I called that morning to reserve one room, they said it was available and asked for a deposit, which we sent. After a long day at work, we arrived around 11 pm and were told that room wasn’t available. We had to take two rooms at a different rate, they wouldn’t honor their mistake, and they never returned the deposit.

I’d rather sleep in my car than book here again. This was easily the sleaziest motel experience I’ve had in all the dozens of rooms I’ve stayed in over the years. I booked online late one night while passing through, at a fair price, and had a confirmation email. Right after booking, the owner called to say my card hadn’t gone through. I don’t know why, but he said I could pay when I arrived. I told him I’d be there in 40 minutes, and he said that was fine. I got there 15 minutes before I’d said I would, close to 11 pm. The woman at the desk didn’t know I was coming. She called her boss, and they spoke in a language I don’t understand, so I have no idea what they discussed. Then she told me the room I’d confirmed had been rented out three minutes earlier. The only room she offered was nearly double the price. I said my room was supposed to be held, but she said it wasn’t. I picked up my things and left. She scrambled and asked me to wait while she called her boss, but I told her I don’t play games. After I left, the owner called and texted over and over. I assume he was trying to fix things, but by then I was done.

After 32 years of travel in the military and railway jobs, this motel ranks as the second worst place I’ve stayed, as of 2025. The location was the only reason I put up with it. Aside from having running water, it wasn’t worth $55 a night. “She was the scummiest vessel you ever saw “.

The staff were caring, respectful, and really lovely. My husband and I stayed two nights and found the room comfortable, with firm beds and everything we needed inside. The prices were affordable too. Check this place out, it’s one of a kind.
