We had a decent, cozy stay with the basics covered, and the price was good, especially if you find an online deal. There are massage chairs in the lobby for a few dollars, too. The place is dated and could use updates, though our room was clean. The newer TV and Fire Stick were nice, but we spent most of our time exploring the lake and town. The lake view wasn’t spectacular from our room, since the hotel is a block back and most of what we saw was the backs of buildings. We were on the fourth floor on the northeast side, though, and had a decent view of the mountains to the east. Service was friendly and check-in and checkout both went smoothly. When we asked for a blanket for the pull-out bed, I offered to pick it up, but a staff member brought it to me at the main-floor elevator. They also gave us a voucher for free family swimming at the public mineral pool when we asked.

We left right away and got our money back, then checked into a beautiful five-star hotel down the street. The room was so bad I wouldn’t put a dog in it. The bathtub and shower curtain were disgusting and dirty, and the TV remote was crawling with what looked like termites. The carpet outside the elevator was ancient and filthy, and the hotel itself looked old and shabby when we arrived. I booked through booking.com. The front desk person was attentive, but that didn’t make up for the room. You get what you pay for, I guess. I wouldn’t recommend this dump at all.

This hotel has a great location, with restaurants and cafes all around, but I’d urge people not to book here. My family reserved rooms 230 and 224. In 230, it was clear nobody had vacuumed, and there was half a candy on the lamp base. In 224, the lamps and outlets didn’t work. We also found stains on the curtains, hair covering the bed, and dirt and stains on both beds. There was water damage in the bathroom and mold in the fridge. We called the front desk and were moved, but the next room was nearly as bad. Dirt was still on the bathroom floor, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, and there was hair and fuzz everywhere. It really seemed like the room hadn’t been cleaned.

The room was cold because the fireplace wasn’t working, and staff couldn’t get it going despite trying. The person at the front desk offered to move us before we even raised the issue, which was nice. We ended up in a warmer room beside the boiler room and stayed two nights. It’s an older hotel, so keeping it in shape can’t be easy, but the rooms are large and it felt safe. The place is clean, accessible for wheelchairs and seniors, and welcomes pets. There’s underground wheelchair parking and a courtesy pass for the public hot springs pool. The people working on site were welcoming. There are also some restaurants nearby.

The front desk was attentive, but the hotel felt old and a bit shady. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, the bathtub had dirty stains, and the clogged sink left the bathroom smelling bad. Honestly, a very poor stay. I wouldn’t recommend it.
