Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront by IHG

We stayed one night for the Santa Claus parade, and the downtown location couldn’t be better. The views were great, the room was comfortable and quiet even with the adjoining door, and I think we all slept well. As a stomach sleeper, I liked the pillows, and there were loftier ones for side sleepers. Breakfast staff and the front desk were kind, and cleaning staff smiled and said hello. The pastries at breakfast were especially good. The pullout couch hadn’t been made up and had crumbs in it, so we had to call for someone to prepare it. That delayed my son’s bedtime, though the staff did a good job once they came. The pool was the bigger letdown: there was a dirt ring around the edge that I could write “wash me” in, plus lots of hair on the floor. We told the front desk, but it was still dirty in the morning, with an empty beer can by a chair. Towels ran out too, and getting more took about ten minutes. For a four-star hotel, cleanliness needs attention, especially in a busy pool area. Parking would be nice included, but I can see downtown convenience may come at a cost. I was also disappointed that free lobby coffee ended at 11 AM. At other Holiday Inns, it’s available beyond breakfast.

The St. Lawrence view is amazing, and the hotel is right downtown. We had dinner at the dockside restaurant, “Wharf & Feather”, and Marcel behind the bar was really friendly and attentive. Outside, the winter domes were a great place to enjoy Cheese Fondue and Fire Grilled Chicken. We had Rosemary Apple Mules with dinner too. Highly recommended.

When I come to Kingston, often for long and difficult days, I look forward to staying at the Holiday Inn, Kingston-Waterfront. The staff are excellent, and my room is always set up the way I like it. After a tiring day, the bed lets me get a great sleep. On my two-night visit over Xmas🎄2025, the Front Desk Staff gave me their usual warm welcome when I checked in on Dec 24. I had an excellent dinner in the Wharf & Feather dining room overlooking the water that evening. On Xmas🎄day I swam in the pool before heading out, and the Kitchen Staff were serving breakfast. The Chef had made sandwiches and wraps for guests in the lobby. On Boxing Day, Heather served me breakfast with such friendly, personal care. She helped make my stay meaningful during a difficult time. Thank you, Heather, for making my Xmas🎄stay memorable.

The staff made a lovely first impression when we checked in, and the room had a nice view and plenty of space. The hotel was well stocked, from the snack-bar to the pool. Before our visit I called with a question, and Justin at the front desk listened carefully and responded with real care and support. I felt valued as a guest. We had a great stay.
