Harrison Hammond House Farmstay

We had a long weekend reunion hosted by Harold, and it couldn’t have gone better. There was lots of open, clean space, fresh air, and lovely views. Everyone from age 3 to 53 had a great time.

We booked at the last minute to get away from everyday hustle, and I’d recommend the cabin for those views when you wake up. The night sky is something else. During a cold, windy spell, the hot tub was a welcome way to warm up, though it’s a little walk from the cozy cabin. We’ll book again, hopefully timing it with the eagle migration for wildlife photography.

We planned on two nights and ended up staying four. Such a peaceful, creative atmosphere, really inspiring for artists and musicians. The hosts were gracious.

Harold and Fei have made something special on 25 acres. There are flower gardens, an orchard, berries, and plenty of grassy space for nature lovers. Chickens wander around and sometimes lay eggs, which are great at $6 /doz. The main house has roomy bedrooms and huge bathrooms with calm views to enjoy from the deepest tub ever. It’s a distinctive farmstay and retreat, and also a recording studio, with pianos in almost every room. There’s a big meeting area with your choice of comfy chairs and sofas, plus a well-stocked kitchen with dishes and pots. Bring your food and cook there, then head out for a walk in any direction. Dogs are welcome in some rooms or in the available cabin. Whether you’re traveling alone or with a group, it feels like a home away from home.
