Castaways Cottages

Watching the Northern Lights from the porch before sunrise was the standout moment of our Northwest Territories trip. We stayed in log cabin #1, closest to Great Slave Lake, with an unobstructed view. The cabin was nice and had everything we needed. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend it.

The owners were wonderful and quick to help when we ran into a small issue. They were generous enough to upgrade us, too. We can't thank them enough for such an amazing stay. NTHSSA employees looking for a relaxing break from a busy work life will find this a great place close to home. We'll definitely come back.

We had a great time out on the water with the kayaks we rented on our first day. The next morning we rented two quads and spent a few hours riding around the beach, sand dunes, and river. Our two bedroom cabin was cozy, had plenty of room for four, and looked right over the water. She was so helpful and got everything to us quickly. Can't wait to return to Castaways!

Those sunsets were a lovely bonus to an easy, relaxing vacation. We rented boats, enjoyed the sunshine and beautiful beach, and left feeling recharged. Daryl was a welcoming host who made sure we had what we needed, and the cabin was clean and well equipped. A real hidden gem. We hope to return soon.
