Anchorage House and Cottages

Even though they were full, the staff found a way to fit us in while staying within our budget. They were flexible and went above and beyond, and we really appreciated the hospitality. The place was quiet and conveniently located near the main attractions.

There was plenty of room for all 19 of us, both inside the house and out on the property, so relaxing was easy. We loved the view of the water and the private dock. Our family reunion at the Anchorage Inn was wonderful, and we’ll definitely stay again.

We love the clean, bright cottages, and it’s a nice touch that they’re stocked with basics like coffee and sugar. Kate even let us know when they were ready ahead of check-in so the kids could get extra time in the pool. She also came over to our cottage within 10 minutes of my email to point us toward the closest lake where we could take our Seadoo. We’ve had some disappointing customer service at other places, so how friendly and helpful she is makes a big difference. This was our second year at Anchorage for a weeklong family trip, and we couldn’t ask for a better stay. We’ll be back every year.

The hosts and staff made our guests feel comfortable, and everyone noticed the work they put in before, during, and after the wedding, including cleanup. Kate, Lee, and the staff were professional, organized, thoughtful, kind, and so accommodating throughout the week. Their support also eased a lot of my stress as a bride, from our communications during the year to the final preparations, which we could work on in the venue’s homey, intimate setting. Kate and Lee even agreed to play music for the ceremony to help make the day run smoothly. My husband and I were married at the Anchorage House on July 5, 2025, and our wedding and weeklong stay felt magical. The scenery is beautiful, but the hosts are what make this dream venue truly special. I’d recommend the Anchorage House a million times over for an intimate, beautiful wedding with wonderful hosts.
