The local drink had so much character, and I’m still thinking about it. The fish and chips were just as memorable, every bite delicious. Right by the waves, the restaurant feels peaceful and full of personality, and the attentive staff made us feel welcome and relaxed. A lovely island spot that makes you want to linger.

The setting was pleasant and the staff attentive, but the food felt overpriced for what arrived. The $39 bun with canned shrimp and lobster salad, and the confit duck leg with what I thought was a silly potato salad, were both around the same price. We chose the restaurant because of its location and its favorable Google reviews, and seeing similar dishes served to other tables made me wonder if everything simply costs more now. Still, the cost wasn’t my only issue. I felt misled by the restaurant and by those generous Google ratings.

There’s plenty of parking, and the views are beautiful. We had a delicious lunch: my husband got the duck poutine, while I ordered beef tartare with salad and fries. The portions were generous, every bite was good, and the local sangria went perfectly with the meal.

Looking out at the river and all the colorful leaves made lunch feel special. The beef tartare had a delicious spicy kick, and the duck confit was tender and really good. Lovely place.

We found a seat by an open window, with a view of the patio and river. It was too sunny for us to sit outside, and I burn easily, so that worked well. The atmosphere was wonderful, and our server was friendly and helpful. I had the duck poutine, my friend chose a ham panini, and the coffee was delicious. A lovely restaurant right on the river with an authentic menu.
