Ingonish Chalets

We had a great family stay in the large cabin while traveling the Cabot Trail. Check-in was easy, even early, and the cabin already had everything we needed. After we left some Airpods behind, the host got in touch and kindly mailed them to my home out of province. Highly recommend.

The beach is right across the street, a lovely way to start a holiday, with golden sand and salty air. Check-in was so quick we had the keys, dropped our bags, and were in vacation mode in under three minutes. Our suite was spotless and cozy, with the essentials: a fridge, microwave, clean bathroom, and a very welcome AC unit. They’d even left coffee and cups, which was a thoughtful touch. I’d come back for sure. The one thing I’d suggest is a better coffee machine, since the current one doesn’t work as well as the rest of the place.

Room 4 had a nice chalet feel, but it was right beside the cleaners’ supply room. From about 8:30, people were walking, talking, and driving cars and carts right outside our room. The sofa bed was really uncomfortable to sleep on too. I’d return, just not to this room.

Ingonish is a great location, but we wouldn’t stay here again. We paid for cabin 6 in the ‘motel’ and were surprised to find black mold on the bedroom wall, especially after seeing reviews saying the place was clean. It raised health concerns for us and put a damper on our night away. I called the owner, left a voicemail with my cell number about the problem, and four days later still hadn’t received a call, text, explanation, or apology about the room’s condition.
