The ski-in, ski-out setup made it easy for us to come in for lunch and a rest before night skiing, and my husband could watch us ski down to the lift from the room. Our family loved our three-night stay at Trickle Creek Lodge and is already planning to return next year. The rooms were clean, with a kitchenette stocked with basic dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly. We also ate at Buckhorn twice and had amazing food and the best service. We used the pool and hot tub twice. The kids were fine with the pool, but we adults found it too cold. The hot tub was nice, though the one tub was always crowded. We noticed there was space for a second and hope they add it soon. Thanks, Trickle Creek Lodge, for a memorable trip!

The room was spacious, with a fireplace and balcony, and the hotel has the amenities you need for a good day on the ski hill. After skiing, the small outdoor hot tub and heated pool were nice. There’s a bar and restaurant on the main floor that looked good inside, but we didn’t go in, so I can’t speak to the food or service. The shower head was terrible. The biggest problem was the single elevator, which seemed not to have been serviced in decades. We waited up to ten minutes, and it arrived full of people. With someone who had mobility issues, getting around was harder, and hauling all our belongings to the room was a mission. The underground garage was tight too. Other than that, it’s a nice place to stay.

Staff were super friendly, and we thought it was great value. We stayed three nights in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite with a huge balcony and would happily return. The kitchen was great, though it could use a cutting board, oven mitts, frying pan and paring knife. We liked the ski-in, ski-out access and the locking ski lockers. The hot tub was great, but the heated outdoor pool was too cold for us adults. The advertised photo shows two hot tubs, but one is covered with plywood. It would be great to have both, since the small one sometimes had 14 people in it.

The beds were fine, but that was about it. Our room was clean, but the burner smoked whenever it was on, the shower drain barely worked, there was nowhere to store food, and the bathroom fan was insanely loud. There was no Wi-Fi in room 320. As a student, I needed it for work, but it wouldn’t connect and kept telling me to move closer when I couldn’t. I asked reception for a booster or any help and was told to work in the lobby because there was “nothing we can do about it”. I hate working there since it’s loud and always crowded. I even missed an important call because the Wi-Fi didn’t work in the lobby either.

The ski access is what made this stay worthwhile for us. We could walk straight out onto the hill at Kimberley Alpine Resort, with no car or shuttle, and the balcony looked over the slopes. For the price, our roomy studio was a great deal, with a king bed, full kitchen, fireplace and space for the family. Cooking for ourselves helped keep costs down, and the staff were friendly. It had an easygoing mountain lodge feel. A few things could use attention. The shower sprayed everywhere instead of giving a steady stream, and the elevator only worked most of the time. The outdoor hot tub was lukewarm, so it wasn't the relaxing post-ski soak we hoped for. The heated pool was usable, though in winter it felt more suited to a quick dip than a long swim in the cold air. Still, the location and value would bring us back for another affordable ski trip.
