Kingston Marriott

The front desk team made a great impression from the moment I arrived. Everyone I dealt with was welcoming, efficient, and professional, and the service around the hotel was excellent. The property is very clean and well maintained, and the location worked well for both business and leisure. My room was comfortable, quiet, and well equipped, so it was easy to unwind after a long day on the road. I'd happily stay at the Kingston Marriott again on my next visit to Kingston and recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable, high quality hotel.

I've been here for different reasons and each visit left me with a luxurious, very accommodating impression. The recently renovated restaurant has a bright, attractive interior, lots of options, fantastic food, and friendly, attentive service. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and feel upscale. Downtown has plenty of local gems within walking distance, plus a beautiful waterfront. I also attended a work event in one of the larger dining and event rooms. The lobby, hallways, and event space were lavish and well kept, and the delicious food was matched by excellent service from the greeters through the wait staff.

We stayed one night for a visit to Queens university, and the warm welcome made the stay even better. The staff were wonderful from arrival through checkout. The lounge was nice too, with freshly made snacks and appetizers. The hotel is in a great spot, just a few minutes' walk from the lake, with lovely views. Our room was clean and modern, and the town is beautiful.

The room was beautifully designed and had a great view of city hall. Check-in was quick, and the room attendants were responsive and did a good job cleaning. The problem was how uneven the dining service felt. Dinner the night before took longer than expected, especially the appetizers and soup, even though the service was generally good. The next morning in the M Club, the only attendant was friendly and clearly trying hard, but seemed overworked. Guests asked for tables to be cleared and he couldn't keep up alone. Kitchen staff came to remove food after 10 AM, but one declined to help when the attendant asked, and another said he was too busy, while guests were still eating and using the buffet. From the guest side, it was hard to understand why clearing food took priority over clearing tables, and I felt I had to speak up. The executive kitchen chef did step in, asked what had happened, and said he would address it with the staff, which I appreciated. It was a busy morning, and I imagine the kitchen staff were under pressure too. Still, the slow dinner and breakfast flow made me wonder whether kitchen capacity was keeping up with peak guest numbers. If the hotel sells M Club access to Platinum and Titanium guests while also serving a full restaurant brunch, it should be able to deliver that experience consistently. Individual interactions were positive, but the teamwork and overall service standards looked poor in that moment. The delays and flow issues made dining feel inconsistent and stressful for my family. I also had trouble with the elevators. The buttons need checking or fixing, since it seemed impossible to go from the second floor anywhere but down. Maybe it was only the light that was broken.
