Welcome Traveller Motel

You can hear quite a bit through the walls, including people next door, distant train horns day and night, and road traffic. It's a minor drawback and not a terrible problem, especially for a good value stay in a convenient spot. The staff are friendly, the rooms are cozy, adequately furnished and seem well maintained. There's a TV, phone and coffee maker, and the WiFi works great.

Nothing major was wrong, and you get what you pay for. After a long day at work, the staff's friendliness was a real plus. They could use a broom up at ceiling height to clear away the spiderwebs, though, and bigger bath towels would be nice.

We handed back the keys and left. The room had a mossy smell, and the woman said it was coming from the basement, which should be fixed. The office smelled of curry, too. Outside, there were two BBQs in front of the motel rooms with people making supper, and a large truck was parked where we couldn't stop in front of our room. Its occupant seemed to be living there, so I wondered if the rooms were used for monthly stays. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The owners are what keep bringing me back each year. They're a caring, accommodating family, and I can't say enough good things about them. The motel is also quiet, clean and good value, with a convenient location. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, peaceful stay at a great rate.
