Walper Terrace

I travel often for work and can be particular about hotels, so I’d recommend staying here if you’re in the area. The rooms were beautiful and well maintained, and the staff were gracious, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Marcelo, Daniela, Delina and Juliette all went above and beyond. My server at TWH Restaurant was a lovely man and made dinner really enjoyable too. My first room had a city view, but traffic and motorbikes made it noisy late into the evening. The team handled that so well and kindly moved me to a much larger courtyard room. It was a definite upgrade and much more relaxing. One of my nicest hotel stays anywhere in Ontario, and I’ll definitely be back.

The staff went above and beyond when I ran into a work issue and really saved the day. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the cotton spa bathrobe was a fun touch. Water pressure and temperature were fabulous, which isn't something you can always count on in an older building. There was also in-room Nespresso, tea, and bottled water. The location is hard to beat, with everything in the center of Kitchener within walking distance. There's a lovely little sitting area in a courtyard off the third-floor hallway. We love Kitchener, and the Walper is a great place to stay.

We had two dinners at the restaurant, and both meals were delicious and nicely presented. The staff there were lively, pleasant, and knew their stuff. Everyone throughout the facility was wonderful and seemed to get along. Check-in was easy, polite, and informative, and the rooms were clean, comfy, and well appointed. Parking isn't on site, but it's so easy to access that it may as well be. If we come back to Kitchener, we'll stay at The Walper.

The street noise was the one downside, and I could hear it even on the 5th floor. Next time I'll ask for a courtyard room. Otherwise, I loved my stay at the Walper. My room was clean and comfortable, with a really nice bathroom. The staff were the best part, professional and efficient, and they genuinely went the extra mile for guests. I can't say enough nice things about them.
