Hawley Place Bed & Breakfast

Mandy and Dwaine were wonderful hosts, and their two friendly, well behaved dogs were lovely to have around. We woke to the smell of fresh baked bread and enjoyed it with homemade jams. All the food was fresh and delicious. The Victorian style home has modern comforts, and our room was peaceful, clean, and comfortable. We really enjoyed staying here and will definitely return.

We were here for a family emergency, and staying at this lovely place made the trip much easier. The hosts cooked delicious breakfasts every morning, using local ingredients when they could, with homemade bread, granola, and more. My husband had the eggs Benedict and I had scrambled eggs each day. Both were made so well that we didn’t want anything else. Our second floor king room was spacious, stylish, cozy, and full of natural light, with a nice view from the window. The sheets felt smooth and the mattress was soft and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to come back.

Breakfast was a real treat, with homemade bread, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, and orange juice waiting at the table, followed by a five star meal. The wraparound porch was a lovely place to read or eat among the beautiful gardens. Hawley Place is a warm, inviting Victorian home, and the rooms have private bathrooms, dreamy mattresses, air conditioning, and lovely views. The hosts were exceptional, and I had a wonderful stay. If every B&B were like Mandy and Dwaine's, I’d never stay in a hotel again.

Update: our friends recently sold the B&B, and we haven’t been back since. Please make up your own mind about the new management. If you’re nervous about trying a B&B because you don’t know what the owners might be like, Hawley Place Bed & Breakfast is a good first one to try. The owners are a very sweet couple and longtime friends who genuinely enjoy people. They seemed to know when we wanted to chat and when we’d rather head back to our comfortable, modern room. Even as friends, we were treated royally. The room was fantastic, and the food was just what we like. We left wishing they lived closer. I’m sure you’ll be impressed.
