Ye Olde Argyler Lodge

The deck and lovely water view made it easy to wish we’d booked a second night to relax. We stayed one night in The Shanty after getting off the ferry. It’s a wonderful place tucked away from the usual route, and Elana was very helpful. The cabin was clean and had the necessities. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The view was outstanding and the service was great at the Mother’s Day brunch. The buffet was pretty much what you’d expect from a brunch buffet, and we really enjoyed it.

We had a great sleep in the cottage and enjoyed coffee on the deck the next morning. It was clean, had everything we needed, and looked out over the foggy coastline. We’d only booked a garden-view room for our overnight stop on a road trip through the valley and along the south shore, but after seeing the cute cottages by the water, I asked about an upgrade. For a small extra cost, we got a beautiful one. Elana, one of the owners, was lovely to talk to when she checked us in. Breakfast in the main building was amazing, and John, the other owner, checked us out. We’d found the Argyler through a quick Google search, which turned up very favourable reviews. It’s a wonderful spot by the ocean, with excellent service. The property is amazing, the owners are fabulous, and I couldn’t recommend the Argyler more. You won’t be disappointed!

The food was amazing, and the haddock and chicken were a big hit. We had the Argyler host and cater our wedding, and the whole experience was wonderful. During planning, they were quick to answer our questions and really helpful in making the day feel just as we’d dreamed. Having everything in one place made life so much easier. My girls stayed on the property the night before and got ready there, which helped the day flow smoothly. We had the ceremony and reception there too. I can’t recommend them enough, and we’ll keep visiting the restaurant to relive our special day.
