Comfort Inn Timmins

The room door was unlocked when we arrived. The beds sagged and were noisy and uncomfortable, the curtains and bed skirts were really dirty, and the shower was clogged. I’ve stayed at many Comfort Inns, but this was the worst I’ve seen. Very disappointing. Take pride in the place, and look down when cleaning.

We left feeling afraid we might be assaulted if we stayed, and we won’t return or recommend this hotel to visitors from out of town. In winter, I went to visit a friend who was staying there. While we were throwing trash in the bin on the way to the room, hotel security got out of their car and confronted us, acting as though we didn’t belong on the property. They treated us like criminals, harassing us and asking aggressive questions. We responded defensively, were called racist, and faced homophobic slurs. It’s unreasonable to harass someone just for throwing out garbage.

Check-in service was excellent, and my room met excellent standards. It’s a nice, quiet hotel. There’s no guest laundry room, though, and you need a vehicle to reach grocery stores and restaurants since nothing is within walking distance.

Everything was good, including breakfast. The floor by the patio door was very slippery, and could use a carpet.
