Flamingo Hotel

The location is convenient for the west end of town, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The place doesn’t look like the pictures, and there was no pool. It was supposedly out of service for “maintenance,” but honestly, I’m not sure it even has a pool anymore. If it does, I doubt it looks like the photos. They checked me in under the wrong name and overcharged me badly. Staff corrected it, but only after a big argument. They’d also booked the wrong kind of room. The first room was filthy, with live and dead bugs everywhere, no heat, no sheets or comforter, no towels, and it hadn’t been cleaned. 🤮 The next room was a little better and at least had heat, but the bed was still awful, with stains and hair. Coffee supplies were missing, and the carpets in the room and hallway were disgusting. The bathroom fan was good entertainment, at least. We probably should have read the other reviews before booking, but we didn’t. GROSS.

The pool was closed, and nobody told us when we checked in. The continental breakfast was a joke for what they offered. There wasn’t any toilet paper in the room, water was leaking through the ceiling, and the water marks suggest it had been happening for quite a while. The key opened the inside door but not the outside one. The bathroom hadn’t been swept or cleaned well. The curtains were badly beaten up and held in place with nails. The smoke detector looked like it wasn’t working, with no lights on at all.

Noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms kept me from resting. The room was dirty when I arrived, with visible dust, stained linens, and a bad smell that never went away. The furniture was old and damaged, and the bathroom was poorly maintained, with low water pressure and signs of mold. For the price, the quality was completely unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay here again.

I arrived at midnight just wanting somewhere to sleep. The listed price was $51, but I was charged $135. The first room I got a key for had a transient person sleeping in the hallway by my door. I asked for another room and had to pass another transient person in the stairwell to see it. The heater was unplugged, and the temperature showed 55 degrees F. It had a large whirlpool tub, but there were no towels, glasses, or other amenities. I refused the room and demanded my money back. The next day I had to come back and speak to the manager about a refund. They also had the nerve to ask for a $200 deposit for possible damages. It looks like my refund may be going through. This place should be shut down.
