Travelodge by Wyndham Chatham

We had to stay here because of a house fire, and the staff made us feel like family. Everyone was friendly and personable. Our room had a king bed, a kitchenette, a couch, and a walk-in closet. The bed was comfortable, and we'd definitely recommend it to friends and family as an option.

For this kind of hotel, it was very good. The room had a mini fridge, a comfortable spot to sit, and a good bed with nice bedding. Breakfast is usually my issue at places like this because there's little real, unprocessed food and hardly anything without sugar. I found some fruit, though it wasn't very good, and there were scrambled eggs and some meat. The yogurts and breads all had sugar.

The breakfast was decent and showed up reliably at 6:30 each morning. The staff were very friendly, and the room was spacious. I found the stay relaxing and would come back next time I'm in town. With more updated decor, I'd have given it five stars.

The room was really clean and just what we needed after a long, exhausting trip. We arrived close to midnight looking for a place to stop, and Barry at the front desk had taken my call while I was still on the road. He greeted us politely, was helpful and personable, explained the place, and offered to help us get settled. He's a real gem at the Travelodge. Barry described breakfast so well that we had to try it, and it was just as he said. I'd never had motel breakfast before, but it was actually great, especially the waffle maker. Thanks to Barry for a great stay. I'd come back and recommend the place. If you arrive late, say hi to him.
